Area Sales Manager (North of England)
Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

The Role

To support the continued growth of our UK business, Spirotech is recruiting an Area Sales Manager to be based in and cover the North of England.

This is a commercially focused, outward-facing role responsible for developing sales, managing key relationships, and driving profitable growth across your territory. You will work closely with consultants, contractors, merchants, and internal colleagues to increase adoption of Spirotech solutions within commercial and industrial building services projects.

You will report directly to the UK Business Director and form a key part of the UK sales management structure.

Purpose of the Role

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for increasing sales revenue and market share within the Northern region by:

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers and key influencers
  • Identifying and converting project opportunities
  • Supporting the specification and sale of Spirotech products through the supply chain
  • Acting as the commercial representative for Spirotech within the territory

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Territory Management

  • Manage and develop sales within the North of England in line with agreed targets and business plans.
  • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities with consultants, contractors, and merchants.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and activity reporting via CRM.
  • Implement pricing, promotion, and commercial strategies as agreed with the UK management team.

Customer & Project Engagement

  • Build and manage relationships with M&E contractors, consulting engineers, merchants, and end users.
  • Track projects from early enquiry through to order completion, working closely with specification and internal sales teams.
  • Support customers with commercially focused product advice and value-based selling.
  • Promote Spirotech’s solutions, brand values, and technical credibility within the region.

Collaboration with Specification & Internal Teams

  • Work closely with Specification Engineers to ensure projects convert from specification to order.
  • Liaise with internal sales, technical support, and service teams to ensure consistent customer experience.
  • Provide market intelligence on competitor activity, pricing trends, and customer needs.

Business Development & Market Feedback

  • Identify new routes to market, strategic accounts, and growth sectors within the territory.
  • Represent Spirotech at trade events, customer meetings, and regional presentations when required.
  • Provide structured feedback to support product development, marketing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Profile

  • Proven experience in an Area Sales Manager, Sales Engineer, or Technical Sales role within HVAC, building services, or related industries.
  • Existing contacts within M&E contractors and experience would be highly beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, closed water systems, pressurisation, or water quality.
  • Track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a field-based role.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.  Full UK driving license.
