Specification Engineer
Full-time (40 hours per week)

The Role

To support the continued growth of our UK business, Spirotech is recruiting a Specification Engineer to work closely with consulting engineers, designers, and key influencers across London and the North of England.

This is a technically focused, outward-facing role responsible for driving specification of Spirotech solutions into commercial buildings and data centre projects at design stage. You will act as a trusted technical partner to consultants, helping them design reliable, compliant, and high performance closed water systems.

You will work closely with the UK sales team and report into the UK Business Director.

Purpose of the Role

To increase the specification and adoption of Spirotech products by:

  • Influencing system design at early project stages
  • Providing high-quality technical advice and design support
  • Building strong, long-term relationships with consulting engineers and key specifiers

Key Responsibilities

Specification & Design Support

  • Promote Spirotech solutions to consulting engineers, designers, and specifiers.
  • Provide technical guidance on system design, product selection, and application.
  • Support consultants with product selections, schedules, and written specifications.
  • Ensure solutions align with relevant standards and best practice (e.g. BSRIA guidance).

Consultant & Influencer Engagement

  • Develop and manage relationships with M&E consultants across London and the North.
  • Deliver CPDs, technical presentations, and design workshops.
  • Act as a credible technical authority representing Spirotech at design stage.

Project & Opportunity Support

  • Track projects from concept through to construction.
  • Work with internal sales teams to ensure specified projects convert to orders.
  • Provide technical input on tenders and promote the value proposition of Spirotech to contractors where required.

Internal Collaboration & Feedback

  • Liaise with sales, service, and technical support teams to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Provide market feedback on competitor activity, standards, and design trends.
  • Support continuous improvement of technical literature and specification tools.

Profile

  • Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Building Services, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in specification engineering, technical sales, consultancy support, or design engineering. (Existing contacts within M&E consultants would be highly beneficial)
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, closed water systems, pressurisation or water quality.
  • Confident working with consulting engineers and technical decision‑makers.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Full UK driving licence.
